The first issue of the weekly magazine WIR BRÜCKENBAUER, founded by Gottlieb Duttweiler, was published on 30 July 1942 with a title that alludes to Migros’s role as a bridge-builder between producers and consumers. It served as a communication tool for the Migros Cooperatives Association and addressed members of the cooperatives. It began with a circulation of 110,000, but soon grew to over 200,000 in 1952.
From 1987, the publication, which had previously been published as a newspaper, appeared in tabloid form and four-colour printing, before being renamed MIGROS MAGAZINE in 2004.
Its French-speaking counterpart is CONSTRUIRE.
