SCHLAGER, Sweden
'Der Swenska Rocktidningen'. Schlager was a Swedish rock magazine that was started in Stockholm in 1980 by music journalists Håkan Lahger, Mats Lundgren, Thore Soneson and Bengt Eriksson, all of whom had previously worked at the magazine MUSIKENS MAKT and the new magazine came to unite older prog journalists with curiosity left and a younger generation of critics who were influenced by punk, which was also reflected in the breadth of its readership.
The magazine was the dominant music magazine in the 1980s and is considered to have renewed Swedish music journalism with more in-depth and subjective articles.
