TIGHT CONNECTION, UK

TIGHT CONNECTION, subtitled ALTERNATIVES TO COLLEGE, was the newsletter of 'The Cambridge Bob Dylan Society'. This group was setup in 1984 by four Dylan fans from the East of England: John Nye, Chris Rolph, John Stokes and Chris Cooper. Two of them will later create the FREEWHEELIN' project.
Initially the group was called ‘The Talkin’ Bob Dylan Society’, then got renamed to ‘The Bob Dylan Society’ sometime in 1988, before eventually arriving at ‘The Cambridge Bob Dylan Society’ (TCBDS) sometime in early 1999.
TIGHT CONNECTION was a free newsletter compiled by John Nye and sent out to ‘members’ before a meeting. It started in September 1990 and ran for 9 years ending in September 1999. There were 55 issues, printed and distributed by post. The first issue is dated 28 September 1990, the last one (#55) 24 September 1999. #1 to #43 were A5 size and averaged 7 pages, #44 to #55 were A4 and were each 2 pages.
Thank you to John Nye for this information.
